At Amegreen Children’s Services, we are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join our residential care teams supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs across our warm, therapeutic homes in West Berkshire and Hampshire.

The Role

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to support young people in their daily lives while developing practical skills that complement your continued development.

You’ll work on a shift rota (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins), gaining a realistic insight into therapeutic care environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Apply psychological theories (e.g. attachment, behaviour, trauma) in real-life settings
  • Support daily routines such as school, meals, activities, and bedtime
  • Help young people develop emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
  • Plan and engage in meaningful activities (games, creative play, outdoor activities)
  • Support trips such as cinema visits, bowling, museums, and seaside days
  • Accompany young people to school, appointments, and family time
  • Keep clear, accurate records to support care and safeguarding
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and professionals
