About Juniper House School   

Juniper House is a specialist SEND school dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing and personal development of children with special educational needs. We believe that feeling safe, valued and understood is the foundation for all learning.

Job purpose:   

  • To inspire, motivate and challenge through the planning and delivery of high-quality learning experiences leading to good progress and outcomes for all students. 

  • To manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment and high-quality pastoral support. 

  • Promote personal development and the welfare of students. 

  • To fulfil the wider professional responsibilities of being a teacher, through supporting the creation and implementation of policies and initiatives.  

  • Coordinate and develop your curriculum area contributing to whole schools’ improvement priorities. 

  • To share and prioritise the schools’ values and pedagogy across the whole curriculum. 

Essential requirements: 

  • Good degree in subject and QTS.  

  • Able to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively in your subject area with a sound knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.  

  • Ability to adapt teaching for different learning needs.  

  • A range of strategies for creating a positive learning environment.  

  • Positive and engaging teaching style, able to lead, motivate, inspire and support students to achieve excellence.  

  • Ability and commitment to contribute to our extra-curricular programme and revision classes as needed.  

Working Pattern and Benefits   

  • Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, with minimal after-hours commitments  

  • Friday afternoons are CPD time with no students on site, plus 10 INSET days across the year
